Soon after using the KRG X-Ray fitted on the LA 105 chassis, I found there were a lot of limitations restricting me from being able to balance the rifle, and having the options to customise the rifle to suit me with aftermarket accessories. I also found myself wanting to add to the KRG XRAY chassis with more options to fine tune and improve on it. So at Total Hunter we set out to make the best modular setup that will bolt directly onto the KRG chassis.

Total Hunter Developments,

Total hunter is a company founded in 2021 by a keen PRS competition shooter using the KRG XRAY chassis that came as part of the Lithgow Arms 105 package, a commercial off the shelf option,

With countless hours of test and evaluation we ultimately produced a product range that has been designing to meet the demands and expectations of multiple shooting disciplines including varrmint pest control, recreational hunting and competition shooting to offer the Open Innovation Class Total Hunter (OIC1) forend.

The OIC1 from Total hunter out performs and outclasses everything else that is currently available on the market.

When used with the Total Hunter forend handgrip, which is simply bolted on using the preexisting threaded hole profile of the XRAY back bone

The Total Hunter product range is made from all CNC 6061 billet Aluminum offering a robust, durable, and modular construction designed to improve accuracy and has been meticulously developed by a shooter for a shooter to maximise comfort and flexibility in rifle set up no matter the application.

The OIC1 delivers a fully integrated ARCA rail with M-LOCK AND R-LOCK compatibility though the full length, terminating at the barricade stop allowing the user to adapt to a wide range of applications.

The barricade stop features an aggressive profile designed to ensure there’s plenty of grip on barricades or shooting bags that the rifle is being positioned on. The curved angle allows the shooter topan the rifle in order to locate and engage targets while minimising recoil slip and has been designed a little further forward of the magazine well to help prevent a shooting bag from obstructing the magazine.

The magazine wells have been specifically adapted for the LA 105, Tikka and Rem700 providing a fine-tuned magazine well fit to reduce magazine movement and slop reducing miss feeds and ensuring confidence when riding the magazine against a bag.

The total length of the forend is 498mm long and offers 9 M-Lock slots allowing the user to mount M-lock compatible accessories along the length of the rail. The length of the allows enough clearance for a wide range of aftermarket M-lock accessories manufactured by other brands allowing the flexibility to bolt on many aftermarket parts without interfering accessories attached to the ARCA rail, while allowing for the use of the uniquely developed Total Hunter spigot weights.

What sets the Total Hunter OIC1 apart from the rest? The OIC1 has a specially designed spigot weight system that gives the shooter the ability to add or remove weight from their system in just a few seconds. The Total Hunter spigot weight can be added or removed on the fly during a hunt or competition to aid in balancing the rifle to individual needs by combating muzzle rise on a stage or removing vital pounds when hunting with several weight options available, all CNC machined from solid brass to give a lighter rifle system or lowered centre of gravity.

The Total Hunter Night Vision (NV) Cover provides shooters with the flexibility of choosing a short or long version to attach in-line NV or thermal sights, as well as the option to mount a clip-on directly to the NV Cover instead of their scope. The NV Covers are designed with tolerances allowing for larger profile barrels and with M-Lock mounting options for low, medium and high picatinny rails to suit your individual needs.

Both forend covers come with a bullseye bubble to ensure correct level with mounting of scope to NV clip on and guaranteeing a level platform for which the user can level their scopes

Here at Total Hunter we recommend the short NV Cover to those who’s use case is suited to clip-on style NV or thermal sights, and the long NV cover to those who use a true in-line NV or thermal because the long version gives you the ability to have mounting options all the way from the receiver to the end of the rail without compromising eye relief.

Total Hunter also offers specially designed mirage eliminators which attach via the M-Lock system on top of the NV cover to eliminate barrel mirage while shooting in arduous conditions or long strings of shots.

The OIC1 is compatible with the KRG internal weight system for the Whiskey, X-Ray and Bravo models, as well as providing compatibility with KRG branded forend covers using the same threaded hold configurations as KRG. Due to the unique design of the Total Hunter spigot weight system however, the KRG spigots will not be compatible.
